Favorite books of the Bible

I have two absolute favorite books of the Bible. For the Old Testament, I love the book of Esther. Fun fact, Esther is the only book in the Bible that does not mention God. Because of that, it’s up to the reader to spot God acting throughout the book, an invaluable skill for life when people aren’t pointing out God’s actions to you. For the New Testament, I love the book of John. John is my #1 book for the entire Bible, because I love how intimately it describes Christ and how He interacted with people. Reading it really makes me feel like I know Him personally more and more.

What's something you'd love every Christian to know?

I would love every Christian to know that depth and breadth of God’s love for them. It’s hard to imagine how unstoppable the church would be if every Christian could fully comprehend and embrace the love of God. Our Lord saves regardless of who you are or what you’ve done, and when Christians forget that is when we are at our most vulnerable. I want my brothers and sisters to understand the love of God, accept that it applies to them, and then become beacons of that great love in the world.

What's something you'd love unbelievers or unchurched people to know?

I would love for unbelievers or unchurched people to know that God offers them the same grace as believers and people active in the church have. It could never be said that you’re not good enough to step into a church or that, “the building would fall down” if you walked in. You don’t need any righteousness of your own to be able to step into church or to ask about the Gospel, you simply need a willingness and a curiosity. May God draw you to that point, because then the real fun begins!
